Fiber-Optic Communications Based on Finite-Genus Solutions to the NLS with a Convolutional Neural Network Receiver

A novel fiber-optic communication system using finite-genus NLS solutions and a convolutional neural network receiver is demonstrated. The method avoids periodic constraints and shows transmission below the 7% HD-FEC threshold.
