Gradient Boosting for Nonlinear Equalization in Optical Transmission Systems

This work explores the application of Gradient Boosting (GB) as a machine learning technique for nonlinear equalization in optical transmission systems. GB is presented as a viable alternative to neural networks for mitigating signal distortion effects in fibre propagation.
